I get disturbed when I see some of the best timber ground in the world being cut off from harvest. The net effect of that is to push harvest over to areas less productive, most recently to countries with no environmental restraint whatsoever.


Indonesia? Borneo? etc. Several islands have been clear cut in the Pacific. It is an environmental disaster every time it happens. That is why conservatives are better stewards than preservationists are.
