In order to really defeat al queda and neuter iran, obama needs to use his world wide popularity to our advantage. Question. Whom do you think would win a popularity contest in the Middle East? Obama or Osama? As long as our guard is up osama cant get us because as you so eloquently say, bush did such a great job. So there. Our guard is no longer up. Obama foolishly began dismantling it on day one, with the proclamation that we would not use enhanced interrogation techniques. HUMINT is critical, and Obama gave up a significant portion of it on Day One. And he's just getting started. If the CIA captures a fountain of information in Afghanistan today, they have no effective means of getting him to give it up. At all. That, Michael, is stupid. You don't win wars by talking. Or by not fighting. Or by weakening your defenses.
