That's a good wedge to insert my comment about outliers, which I use to shake up self-contained and self-serving logical models that are put to me. It's a simple logical test to see if a model applies in a wide variety of situations or simply the context in which it was originally put.

The common sin on SI and elsewhere is to extrapolate broadly from narrow examples, declare a general rule or principle and ignore those cases where applying that rule to a different case produces a negative outcome.

Critical thinking versus simply accepting declarations at face value.
