I think it's ok to throw out an hypothesis based on outliers, but it's when you make a religion out of it that it becomes a problem- so to speak. It's fun to speculate, but I wouldn't put all my money (or bet my life) on a WAG (wild ass guess). Maybe some people confuse hypotheses with religions? One is speculation, one is a matter for absolute belief.
