Bush II's effect on the USA can be compared to Hitler's.
Bush II presided over 911 and this shock allowed him to push an autocratic agenda (Hitler used the Reichstag Fire to push his anti-democratic reforms).
Bush II started wars in Afghanistan and Iraq (Hitler did similar, arguably on a much grander scale though).
Bush II illegally detained and tortured so-called terrorists without due process (Hitler did much of the same, but on a grander scale).
Bush II left office with the country in financial ruins (Hitler killed himself with Germany in total ruins, financially and otherwise). Mind you Bush II's neglect of infrastructure has left the country in ruins in bridges, roads, waterworks, sewers etc..

The only difference between Hitler and Bush is SCALE. Criminality is not a question of quantity as well all know. A murderer of 1 is just as heinous in the eyes of the law as a serial killer.
