Nixon blew it in the 70s when he announced we are all keynsians. What was needed in 70s is what we got in 80s---rebuilding the supply side and lowering taxes. Today we have a president who for as much as one can understands the demand side nature of this recession. Thus the opposite remedy. Now the repubs are the reactionaries like the dems were back in the 70s and 80s. I wish i could find one person who lacks partisan focus who would agree with me. If you buy into it, things make sense. Also intersting is that both situations were preceded by guns and butter from the LBJ and GWB admins respectively..
