Bill, I agree (especially since I've never heard that line before until this week). However, I do think it does make a fair argument for Microsoft's case.

Well, the UI on any machine defaults to the same. After which, users may customize it to their preferences. So it's like Microsoft doesn't want OEMs to mess with Windows, but end users can (and it's not like MSFT could do anything about it, even if they wanted to).
