I am not sure how loosely people play with Flow through paper. I agree that given the tax benefits there is less attachment to the enterprise than with a direct investment. More flippers no doubt. However, I think in this market that is beside the point. The problem today is available credit/ cash and jr explorers burn through cash, if they can raise money with flow through financings and avoid more onerous dilution due to its availability, then I think that is a direct and immediate positive for investors in the sector and trumps the fickle nature of the flow through holder.
