We talk about I.Q. tests but not about aptitude tests. These are completely different. They measure interests and aptitudes for a particular thing...

Used more for an indication of what one might be good at.

For example I did well on an aptitude test on the sciences
and it was recommended I pursue a field in Nursing or
something related to medicine.( In my era women were not doctors)

However, what was not taken into consideration was my
dislike of blood. Or of anyone in pain. I ran away from
such instances and I could give you many instances where I just ran away.

However Bob and Jim were good mechanics. Bob was excellent at diagnosing problems with cars, but terrible in having to get his hands dirty so
Jim did the dirty work. But he failed to show up for work
as he had an alcohol problem. Shows what kinds of variables can take place whether one has a high I.Q. or not.

And BOB was simply terrible as a business man. I invested
in their worthiness but found that it was money thrown away as they just could not make a success of what they had aptitude to do.
