The "Free" West is in trouble when it needs lectures on free enterprise, self-determination, capitalism, private property, from Russia and Vladimir Putin. <“Interference of the state, the belief in the omnipotence of the state: That is a reaction to market failures,” Mr Putin said in his keynote address at the opening of the four-day meeting. “There is a temptation to expand direct interference of state in economy. In the Soviet Union that became an absolute. We paid a very dear price for that.” >

While the loony left are loving the financial mess and using it as an excuse to bring back communism, socialism, Big Brother and Big Government, Russia defends capitalism. Same in China.

The allegations that "Markets failed" are false. They seem to be working just fine. Lehman went broke, good riddance. Citigroup loaned to dead-beats - bye bye shareholders.
