This is an unprecedented economic crisis so no one knows for sure what will work but we have already tried the tax break thing and the bailout thing and the zero interest rate thing and the minor attempt at restructuring mortgages thing so now it's down to whatever is left in the arsenal which is direct government spending.

Republikans are stunted by their ideology. They couldn't think their way out of a paper bag without their daily talking point memo.
