Ibexx, A follow-up story on Micron Electronics backing Microsoft. biz.yahoo.com Friday October 24 1:16 AM EDT Micron Electronics backs Microsoft browser NAMPA, Idaho, Oct 23 (Reuters) - Micron Electronics Inc Thursday said it had no complaint with Microsoft Corp. despite tough negotiations with the software giant detailed in court documents filed by the Justice Department. A Micron manager was quoted in court papers as saying the the manufacturer had wanted to ship computers without Microsoft's Internet Explorer browser icon, but the Redmond, Wash.-based company refused to allow it. Microsoft's refusal to allow manufacturers to license its Windows 95 operating system without the browser is at the heart of a Justice Department charge that Microsoft violated its 1995 agreement settling antitrust charges. Micron Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Joe Daltoso noted that testimony from the company's manager was provided under subpoena and said it did not represent a complaint against the powerful software company. ''We negotiate with Microsoft and our other partners on a daily basis,'' Daltoso said in a statement. ''Give and take is the definition of business negotiations.'' He said the company has determined Microsoft's browser is ''the best business solution for us and our customers.''
