Dave, think of the cable investments as alternatives to cash. I think they will do better than cash. Msft has to start investing that cash, as you know, they throw off an abundance of free cash.

I don't follow tmo so I can't offer much of an opinion. However, I think it is too complex. You really have to know alot about accounting to understand all those spinoffs. The businesses are arcane too. But I know they have done well over the years. I happen to agree with you on hp. Though I wouldn't call their position in Laser printing a commodity. That is a nice business, as is the supplies end of it, with these color inks and papers, and toners.

As for Ingram, you have to be careful about the "low margin" analysis. Grocery stores are the same. IM earns a high return on its capital, which is the ultimate test. I worry about their software distribution (internet) but not the direct model. GTW has dipped their toes into the distribution channel and Dell may lean that way again too. Haven't bought it yet, just thinking about it. Intel too. Thanks for your opinions.
