To me it is something that makes people want to go out and work - to earn the money they are making.
That does NOT include welfare stuff that gives the exact opposite incentive. Don't work, the government will provide for you. Soooooo, that money going to food stamps and extra unemployment compensation or child care or condoms is not a stimulus.
And, if there are no jobs, people stop spending, then more layoffs, still no jobs, less spending, more layoffs still no jobs, people stop spending, then more layoffs, still no jobs, people stop spending, then more layoffs, still no jobs, people stop spending, then more layoffs, still no jobs, people stop spending, then more layoffs, still no jobs, and everything grinds to a halt which is what you prefer.
Oh, I forgot the tax cuts. But if people aren't working, there is no tax to cut. |
