The power of the state used to be bound and constrained by the Constitution. That is no longer the case. The citizens are now bound by the power of the state.

I couldn't agree more. You should ask yourself why is it that you continue to support Bush when he shat all over our freedoms with his FISA law and his warrantless wiretapping. We are now a de facto Gestapo state, where a well-meaning, but misguided civil servant can investigate you on a hunch and ask your neighbors, co-workers and family members leading questions about your involvement in terrorism, even if you are completely innocent, and they can do it without a court order. In my book, that means we are one step away from some less than well-meaning government worker using that power to intimidate innocent citizens and we are ever closer to the day when a Putinesque actor can use those powers to squash political dissent among American citizens.

Again, your sheer hypocrisy astounds me. We have had no greater assault on the Constitution in my lifetime than the largely successful one that has occurred over the last 8 years under Bush and the Republicans.

Either you are a hypocrite or you are woefully ignorant of the damage Bush has done in his 8 years.
