It's not simply the cost of producing the humans, but all the accoutrements too - land, buildings, scenery, engineering knowledge, fish stocks and everything with value. It's the all-up total value of the whole kit and kaboodle.

Just in NZ, humans are valued for road death purposes at about US$1 million. USA valuation is higher. India is of course lower. Africa lower still. Europe up there. Russia middling. China gaining ground. Indonesia not so good.

That was the value of tradable citizenship, not just the cost of production of the human biomass.

I have produced 4 adult offspring and the production cost was low. Feed them bananas, potatoes, carrots and cod liver oil, clothe them in hand me downs. It's cheap to produce the biomass. I have never worked out the total cost, but it's a bargain.
