Fascinating analysis. One thing I have noticed is that the ratio a suitor is willing to pay is often connected to their own ratio. Atria Software was purchased (stock swap) for something like 20 times sales. Pure, its suitor, didn't care because its own market valuation to sales ratio was near the same stratospheric range. It was all funny money to them. :-)
