Here is an idea off the top of my head.

Have the government refinance everyones debt at say 1/2 - 2/3rds of amount due (if they want) and then take back 1/2 of any gains.

Pay the banks a flat fee to verify collateral. You can just use city and state tax records and residence addresses and a coupel of other qucik verifications. Like your being alive-lol.

That would relieve a lot of debt problems, put money in the system quickly, slow down or stop the fall in housing problems; and the government gets a cut of the appreciation.

ps, just print the money and then the government gets the interest too-lol. It might work.

I'll bet they do something like this.
