Cognito, I'm only getting it thru the media cuz "I'm a long way from LA" (possible song title?), but IMHO you don't get 42 billion in the hole just because of the economy. In my view its because the legislature doesn't have the guts to tell the voters their favorite programs are going to be cut, and has continually borrowed to make up the short fall rather than raise taxes. Plus you guys have gutted one of the best educational systems in the world by freezing your property taxes (until the house is sold). It's an entitlement philosophy IMHO. Am I guilty of making a judgment here--guess so. V
