One explanation for the chart is that the lower income brackets are continually dragged down by immigration. "Give me your tired, your poor" ... I don't think so. We get a million new immigrants per year or .3% of the total population. And unlike in the past, those immigrants are not nearly as poor.....many have strong job skills and work in Silicon Valley.
