I had an interesting talk with a young man from Brazil the other night on Second Life who pointed out that it was difficult to talk to Americans about programs because they have a very kneejerk reaction to any implication of socialism and are unable to see that some societal problems may be best addressed by a more socialized approach. No point to the story, except that I think he's right.
