It is a crapshoot. If the economy happens to turn around (which will not have been a result of the spending, but he'll get credit for it anyway) then he rolls a hard-way. If there is no terrorist attack, he is lucky, and both of those -- he's got a great shot at re-election if he doesn't screw anything else up. Should either of those things go against him, he's out.
