Yes no doubt the comments can get distorted. But his speech is quite clear. The thought process behind these comments are what is most concerning.

Does he think construction is only performed by white males? What about females? If he had said only to legal US residents I would not be bothered. If he had seen a typical construction site in the last 10 years he would notice there is much more diversity there then in Congress.

Perhaps if this stimulus bill was more about creating jobs and less about creating long term welfare dependence then it would be better received by the public.
