Dave, you are not mistaken. Iomega set aside $4 million which came right out of earnings. This was about 3 cents per share and was the difference between blowing out the estimates and meeting them. Iomega is selling 10,000 Zips a day + or - ?? (Anybody know how many Zips we're selling?). If 5000 are subject to the rebate this comes to $22.5 million for the Zip drives alone. Last quarter net was only $14 million ($18 million if you include the rebate set aside). Now, I don't think the intent of the program was to damage the 3Q, I think the intent is too sell as many Zips as possible and to this extent I think the program is successful, hence the extension. . . So, you see where this leads, fantastic sales and sorry profits for the third quarter but heightened exposure and increased market share for the future, which IMO is good for the company but what will happen to the share price over the short term?
