senators aren't stupid. they are very smart. the reason you don't see this is b/c they aren't doing what you think they are doing. you think they are trying to run the government for the good of the nation. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA - suckah! they are really just trying to line their pockets and the pockets of those they care about. looking at it from that point of view... they are incredibly successful as they take the public's money and transfer it to themselves and to their friends and family. it would be cynical if not 100% true.
