Happy Birthday to Bob Brinker's Moneytalk show.

The show first aired on Superbowl Sunday in 1986, so the show is now 23 years old. I believe this to be one of the oldest shows of it's type, but that's just IMHO.

Although the show is not perfect, it has done a fine job done in educating the masses (including myself) about investing in stocks, and retirement planning in general.

For myself, I lived in the bay area at the time, and would listen to Moneytalk on KGO while travelling all over Northern California on any of my weekend road trips which I would take spanning from Montery to Sacramento.

for me personally, the best advice I received from the show is the 4% rule, as I was heavily invested in one single stock before taking this advice to heart. This single tidbit of advice saved my butt since the stock I was invested in went down sharply during the 2001-2002 decline.
