He is not very good. I admit that I would just as soon go to an Orchestra concert as a Jazz concert or a Rock concert. But then I demand the highest standards of all of them. Bruce may draw crowds, but his music is not of high standards.

He tries real hard, and that counts for something -- he does have a stage presence.

I've seen many really great musicians who I thought were phoning it in at one time or another, and I can't say Bruce does that. But he lacks the musicianship to have a guitar presence and he lacks the voice to be strong vocally. So, what are you left with? (I do believe Clarence Clemons is consistently impressive, but still, he's no King Curtis).

The great performers are "on" every time. I've seen people like Clapton, McCartney and Elton John many, many times -- and never have I seen a bad performance from any of them. Bruce just isn't in that category. If you're going to tolerate weak, scratchy vocals, you have to be able to come away with something else and I just don't see it in Bruce.

Last time he was here they had to move him to a smaller venue because he couldn't sell out the local arena. I don't know if that is typical or not.
