The government is doing its best to cause a pickup in velocity--short of actually dictating that people must spend.

I have been doing some calculations from this:

In 1971 and 1972, M2 was increasing at an annual rate comparable to what we have now. About 13%. The CRB index took off after a year or 18 months of this and quickly doubled. Gold went from about $50 to about $200.

I don't think that means that gold will quickly go to $3600. It has already more than tripled in the past decade. But it sure could go up 50%, if not 300%.
