Yes, I think you have that about right, although there is some stimulus in an economy from government spending - so I sure don't dismiss Keynesian thought.

But, why I favored the stimulus plan - when I thought there was more infrastructure spending and less democratic pork - was from a pragmatic standpoint. Let's go ahead and spend if we get something for it.

Every person that is working - even if on a project we don't agree with - is a person that is contributing and is paying taxes. Better to spend the money here and make us all feel better than to sit on our hands and cry and whine. Yes confidence is a huge aspect of the stimulus bill. Does money going to food stamps build confidence? Not in my mind.....
