If Republicans supported a stimulus bill that is so heavily geared toward spending on the social safety net (the House bill), they wouldnt be Republicans.

Of course, they wouldn't. Just as if they failed to support the latest screwed up missile defense plan, they wouldn't be Republicans. The whole argument they make about spending is hypocrisy.

Back to Reagan. On the one hand, spend the Russians into defeat; on the other, we don't have enough money for safety net programs. Hypocrisy be thy name.
