Larch is a conifer? I was under the impression it was deciduous.

I have spent almost all of my life in the Eastern 2/3 of the country. I have travelled over large parts of it. The first time I went to Charleston I was an adult and had not recalled seeing live oaks (I had) and it was an awesome and inspiring tree.

I love spring in the Blue Ridge Mountains. One night you go to bed and the whole countryside is brown as far as you can see. (Not far due to mountains.) The next morning you get up and it is green as can be.
