>> Are you staying out of highly populated areas now that Obama, Pelosi, and Reid now have near total control?
No, but it isn't a bad idea.
The truth is that when I go anywhere, I *DO* think about the fact that it is a more dangerous place than where I live. No, I don't sit around worrying about it anymore than I worry about the plane crashing when I fly. But I'm aware of the higher probability of an attack while I'm in Vegas this weekend than there was the last time I was there, in about September.
This, of course, is the objective of terrorism -- to have us living in fear. And it works.
I was in DC a not long after 9/11 and while visiting Union Station, there was an emergency evacuation. It was very serious business. Nobody knew what was going on, why it was happening, or what was happening. Everyone just crowded out front and waited on the all clear. Whatever it was, was harmless -- but for that brief few minutes, I can assure people within the building were in fear of what was happening. There wasn't a soul there who didn't have 9/11 on their mind during the ordeal.
THAT is more the intent of terrorism than is the actual taking of American lives. They want to use our freedom against us to deny us our OWN freedom. And frankly, it worked for many people. |
