In a sense you are correct. But you overlook the fact that the pro global warming people and Al Gore instead of refuting the scientific arguments put forth by the other side chose to attack the messengers by claiming without substantiation in many cases (maybe all)that the oppponents are all in the pay of big oil and therefore they are lying. Turnabout seems to me to be fair play.

The problem when science becomes politicized is that we get a new kind of political science. You don't know who to believe because the "experts" are not being objective they are trying to attain political goals

Science is far from my strong suit, but I am savvy when it comes to politics. I am convinced global warming is about politics and not science.
