Actually I think it is, well sort of technical. When the grid goes down then people go out to work on it and they con't want electricity feeding back in and zapping them. I think that is the reasoning I read somewhere.

It sort of sucks... especially in a place like Florida where a hurricane can knock out your power for a week. I can't imagine having no power and looking up at the useless solar panels on the roof doing nothing. I think that's why a lot of people (with monry to burn) go to a battery system so they can be completely independent of the grid.

Sounds like a cool place... I'll trade you a fine old Barolo for a weeks rent.
