I dunno. Maybe too much "24" and American Idle, and not enuf LSD. Maybe a belief that God is exclusively on our side and will intervene by refilling our domestic energy sources from the cosmic tanker the next time He drops by. Maybe they think the Glory That Was Rome never ended. Fer shure, they believe in the Sacred Cornucopia of Neverending Abundance, and that our lifestyle is non-negotiable, even with Mother Nature and the laws of physics.
