"Christianity tends to judge people by what they believe. I tend to judge people by what they do."

I wont presume to judge Christianity or speak for it because the essential elements of Christianity are under dispute even by its adherents. So what is to judge? You say Christianity judges beliefs. A more accurate portrayal might be that the Lord of Christianity judges … period. and commands ‘thou shall not judge’.

I’ll go out on a limb and declare, The Lord judges all deeds in and of the spirit in which those deeds are committed. So there is an act of doing along with a belief about the act that would be under review.

We wouldn’t have words like ‘deceit’ or ‘corruption’ if all things done were completely judge-able on face value. Apparent acts of charity often contain hooks which require the recipient to become subject to the giver, apparent brutal acts may result in the freeing of innocents from oppression even insufferable tyranny. The truth may be judged when all camouflage is dismissed and all veils are lifted, so that nothing is hidden in the hearts of men or from the eyes and ears of witnesses.

However, the path of truth is founded in reason and paved with purpose. To normal uncorrupted human hearts, the difference between right and wrong; the concept of fairness; a tendency toward generosity; responsibility to care for the rights of others; consideration and redress for personal wrongs; a sense of community even for taboo and shameful human presentation is all a matter of conscience.

“Those who will not reason, are bigots, those who cannot, are fools, and those who dare not, are slaves.”
(Lord Byron)
