Yup. The key reason for hyperinflation is insolvency of
the government (bankruptcy of the country). Is uncle Sam
solvent? Or does he run a Madoff Ponzi scheme, paying for his
liabilities with new debt? Can you lower income (taxes)
and increase expenses (wars, stimulus) for a good decade
without compromising the currency? Or is our dollar hanging on
a thin thread of dwindling confidence that is threatening to
completely evaporate at any time?

The answer is out there...

That is, of course, some exaggeration. Uncle Sam ran insolvent
government for quite some time. The result is clear - there is
inflation out there. How much is always the question. -g-
