Congratulations! New leases on life come seldom, and the process is often resisted. Lillian Hellman said, "Things start as hopes and end up as habits." And habits can be debilitating, especially when you don't realize they are at the heart of unhappiness. Confronting them can be uncomfortable and very painful, but it seems for you it has led to a new energy and beginning. You sound so good. We all hope the health continues to improve and life is rewarding again! But I have no idea where one gets a monocle.
