I believe however the principle of volcanic subsidence and amalgamative concentration via isostatic precipitation does operate here.

You can generally tell about these super giant deposits as the alteration regime will visibly change in facies as you approach the deposit, from miles away. What this tells us is that the locus of ore deposition is controlled by a massive intrusive which sets up the long term conditions for so much hydrothermal fluid to emplace metal amongst the shears which may be syngenetic and caused by the intrusive. What this foretells is that only so many deposits in the area can be created from the shear and intrusive that is the cause of the regional geochemical regime. The Rondell Mine in "BC can be seen up to 13 miles from the deposit as you approach it by the steadily increasing alteration in the surrounding rocks. This reaches its peak within a few hundred yards of the mine. In the absence of any equally compelling regional indications it would hard to predict any other equally interesting silver deposits.

Whilst the above is true and is in print, you can also disregard it completely as an exploration guide as it is inconclusive to the negative. Along the Destor Porcupine from Timmins to Val D'Or there are perhaps a 50 mines. Of course the alteration along the fault is some major. It was the subject of one of my posts earlier which I posted to Goose94. He asked what it all meant.
