You're right. God gave the order to Samuel who relayed it to Saul. And when Saul failed, Samuel finished the job.

The problem is with the tense you use. "Condone" is incorrect.

I've shown you where the Bible condones genocide. I've shown you that this commandment to commit genocide is for all time. Can you show me where the Israelites are forbidden from committing genocide?

I, on the other hand, can say without reservation, without exception that genocide is always immoral and always wrong. You cannot.

Sure I can.


Do you condemn Saul and Samuel for committing genocide against Amalek?

Do you condemn Moses for his murder of women and children prisoners in Numbers 31?

I do. I say if these things happened they were wrong, indefensible, immoral. And if they're only stories i say portraying them as just, righteous killings is also wrong and immoral.

Can you say the same?
