RW, I quickly skimmed through that long article, but I didn't see much written about "The credit crunch according to Soros." Rather, it read like a biography.

Soros is hardly a forward-looking visionary, by the way. He predicted a global financial crisis, but so did a lot of people. Heck, even I wondered what could happen with all of the "free money" from refi's being handed out.

Instead, he himself admits that it's his wealth that gives him a global forum for his left-wing socialist views. Philanthropy for him is no different than that of any rich old man: You can't take your wealth with you to heaven (or wherever).
