>> FDR said it best "nothing to fear buy fear itself"

Note the contrast between this remark and the current administration's suggestion that we may never come back and telling just how bad it is.

This really has the feel of liberals trying to use these tactics to sell Americans more spending programs like a car salesman trying to close the deal.

Krugman's piece was a big scare tactic interlaced with Bush Bashing (nevermind that Ds created this crisis with Rs fighting it all the way).

The Depression ended when Congress authorized spending prior to WWII amounting to 4x our then-annual budget. We simply cannot do that now -- it would totally destroy our currency. Whatever we do spend must be carefully targeted at getting us on the road to recovery -- not just ticking off a socialist agenda, which is currently what is in this bill.

You can't give everyone food stamps and healthcare and unemployment benefits Give them jobs.

But even then there has to be a gameplan to get them off the government dole. We know that.

And the American people should keep in mind that 7.5% unemploymeent is a long way from 10% and that is a long way from 20%. When your president is coming out saying, "you should be scared shitless", I can assure you the economy is going to tank.

And Bush did it, too. It isn't just Obama.
