Don't take this post to seriously - I don't believe it my self since I don't believe in conspiracy theories but I just love how some things fit sometimes. We sure are on a lucky streak these days. Problem - Stock market is overvalued and foreigners have quit buying US debt. How does the US finance the trade and current account deficits? Solution - Start a run on some weak countries currencies and watch the flight to "US safe haven paper" and at the same time create lots of rumors about Gold to make sure that it is not viewed as a viable alternative. Real problem - once the plan is executed successfully - how do you get things to settle down again?
