It's important that the United States maintain the manufacturing base and brain trust for fighter aircraft, tanks, submarines and naval vessels. point and others taken. The F-22 v. other seems complex. I'm unsure of it. But it gets into the capibilities of the fighter jets and the current needs. understood the re-amp is probably not fast as I would like to think. but would there be any fast need? the argument within the Pentagon is intense on the subject and too much seems to center around the money building it (F-22) brings to places. If another jet or whatever makes more sense, why not give those places 1st crack at the new angle on jets/other? what you point out about mistakes is something they say about the F-22 - it is not fit for the missions we are doing in terms of targeted bombings.
