It's odd how the unspecified Laffer curve has dictated 30-odd years of Republican economic dogma. Odder still, both the Reagan tax cuts and the Bush tax cuts were followed by huge budget deficits, but I'm sure that in true W "personal responsibility" fashion, that was all somebody else's fault, and could have been fixed easily by more tax cuts.

I have a somewhat contrary view on tax cuts for rich people. Seems to be a big factor in liquidity driven markets, which always seem to end up with a big bubble bursting somewhere. Of course, when the bubble bursts, there's only one true solution- more tax cuts for rich people. Republican dogma certainly gets points for consistency, every possible problem looks like a nail for the tax cut hammer.
