That is a pretty crazy attitude. Why should I care if some kills or harms someone else, if I don't know them or have anything to do with them? Society at large has an interest in the overall cost of medical care, and has an interest in acting in ways that lessen the risk of chronic illness or death of babies and mothers. Society acts through passing and enforcing laws.
