Allen;

And it's to get food stamps into the hands of people who wouldn't be getting them otherwise.

And in exchange for this extended welfare, it looks as if the democrats are giving in to the 15,000 home tax credit. That comes off peoples income tax. Who will benefit from such a credit? The very rich who get the credit if it is on their first or second or third home. People not paying any tax of course I suppose won't get this credit. Another gift to the rich which then gets charged to our children and their children.

Look, I'm not saying we don't need more food stamps or unemployment - although, I'll be happy to debate that with you. I'm arguing that it does not belong in a stimulus plan. By doing so you just open the door for the republicans to make all kinds of mischief. Now, NOW, there's going to be more money in the bill for the very rich than there ever is for putting people back to work. That does not make sense to me.
