Can't really support either. We need baseload power, not merely electricity that is generated 1/2 the day which, in the case of solar, would require sufficient generating capacity and storage to provide power during nightime use. In the case of wind, I'm not sure the cost is justified, for many of the same reasons, but in addition, it ignores the maintenance and replacement costs for those wind turbines 10 to 20 years from now.

I do support geothermal and ocean wave generation because that would be available 24 hours per day, but are limited where they can be placed.
