Fossil fuels have enough problems without having to add the notion that CO2 is a "pollutant." But they are also the cheapest and most potent sources of energy around.

Wind and solar will never catch up until we run low on fossil fuels. Nuclear energy has potential, but the environmentalists still fear it way too much, and they're the ones monopolizing the whole debate.

What should we do? Get our economy back on track. Fund lots of research, and remove all of the unnecessary red tape for nuclear energy. Push the gassification of coal (another solution that environmentalists dislike because of the whole global warming craze). Push for strict clean air standards, which has profound effects on health and other social benefits.

Lots of things we can do without having to be distracted by that CO2 thing. But keep a close eye on it ...
