Government launching its own lending bank.

That's the first sane thing that I've heard. The unfortunate part is that from what I've read, they're still not targeting the correct borrowers. Giving it to commercial real estate or monoline insurers still puts a layer of intermediaries in between where the money really needs to go. I actually think that lending money to the car makers was, in theory, the right thing to do. The downside is that the UAW is still going to prevent them from being competitive and that money was thrown down a rathole.
